News & New Direction

Welcome back, friends!  We’re glad you’re here for another visit.  If you follow us on Facebook, you know that we made a big announcement a few weeks ago.  If you don’t follow us, we’ll just tell you:

The city passed our addition plans and we are cleared to build!

Wooooooooooooooo Hoooooooooooooooooo!

Can you tell we’re excited?!?

This 3D model is becoming a reality very soon!

Anyway, it looks as though construction will begin at the end of May or the beginning of June.  That means we have a lot of decisions to make and errands to run between now and then.

This is where we get to the “New Direction” part.

You guys know how much we love to create fun projects for our home, right?  You also know that this isn’t a television episode project that takes thirty minutes from beginning to completion.  These projects are so fun for us, but they take up a lot of time!

You may or may not know that we are [self admitted] weekend warriors.  We both work real jobs- mine involves traveling half of the month and Aaron’s involves working 6 [sometimes 7] days a week.  We feel very blessed to have these job opportunities, as they enable us to work our *tails* off to achieve our goals in life.  Because we’ll be busy working our *tails* off at our “real jobs” and preparing for the addition, our project time will be much more limited than it has been!

With that said, for the next few months, we’re going to use the blog to share inspirations and ideas with you.  We’d love your input (as always) while we’re brainstorming and developing “our style”.  We’ll be sharing decisions and materials, as well as the progress on building.

Until this point, we’ve basically only shared our projects, but we can’t wait to highlight others’ for you to swoon over!

We’re extremely excited to “Upcycle Our Ugly” and so glad you’re still along for the ride after nearly a year!

  1. These are exciting times! We are getting closer to purchasing a Ranch style home out west. It has been in probate for 13 years so we expect a lot of renovations. I may have to start an upcycled ranch blog!
