Laundry-Utility Room turned Kitchenette

After about a month of “building burnout”, we’re back in action!

This particular room was the kitchen when we bought the house and for the first 2.5 years we lived here, but was turned into the utility/laundry room during construction. The water heater, washer and dryer were relocated to this room.

Looking at these real estate photos makes me giggle.  Again, what were we thinking when we bought this house?

We thought it would be fun to turn this room into a dual utility/laundry room and kitchenette for when we have guests!  It also adds a ton of extra kitchen storage for us!

We bought a cheap refrigerator off of Craigslist and painted it to match the cabinets and the existing dishwasher.

On the other side of the room, we hung a curtain in front of the washer and dryer to act as a visual barrier between the “ugly” washer and dryer and the cleaner kitchenette cart.

Overall, this helped turn this room into a cleaner, more functional space- and was fun, to boot!
